Safaa El Toukhy

Biography

An Egyptian actress & writer best known for her roles in ‘Layaly Al Helmeya’ and ‘Banat Soad Hanem’. Growing up, Safaa was surrounded by an artistic family; her father, Abdallah El Toukhy, was a highly reputable author, and her mother Fatheya El Assal, a competent writer of her generation; influenced her to pursue an acting career. El Toukhy graduated at the Higher Institute for Theatre Arts and pursued a career in acting, where she began to appear in a number of films and shows starting with “Al Bahitha” in 1979. Although she originated in the theatrical aspect of the industry, El Toukhy only performed in one play and continued to appear in a variety of films & drama series such as “Gaa’na El Bayan El Tally” “Bekheit We Adeela” as well as her roles in drama series “Haret El Yahoud” “Sarraya Abdeen” "El Da'aya" "Esm Moa'kat" and many more. Her latest role in television was as the mother of a mental patient in “Sokoot Hor” which aired June 2016 during the month of Ramadan.
