Biography

An actor / comedian best known for his most recent role in Saturday Night Live (Arabic Version). Raised in Kuwait, Alfons started his theatrical journey at the age of 10 acting as part of two British acting troupes, ‘KAST’ and ‘KuwaitElizebethanS’. In 2002, he was trained by ‘LADMA’ officials (London Academy for Music and Dramatic Arts) and later moved to Cairo, Egypt to study at the American University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Performing and Visual Arts. During his time at university, Shady began working in advertising as a freelance creative writer, voice over artist and actor for clients such as Pepsi, Vodafone, Nestle and many more. Two years after graduating, he moved to British Colombia, Canada where he continued working in advertising specializing in radio and television. Alfons’s career took a turn when he returned to Egypt in 2011, where he was known for writing sketches, short films, parody songs etc.. on the most viewed comedy television show (EL Bernameg) in the history of North Africa and Middle East, hosted by Bassem Youseff until mid-2014. In 2014/2015, Shady starred in his very first feature film ‘From A to B’ that includes big talents like Fahad Al Butari, Madeline Zima, Khaled Abul Naga and director Ali Mustafa. The film's world premiere was at the ADFF and was, shortly after, released in cinemas across the Middle East, North Africa, UK and Europe. Between 2012 and present day, Shadi guest-starred in major hit TV shows in Egypt including 'Al Kabeer Awi' starring Ahmed Mekky and Donia Sameer Ghanem. Shadi has also since appeared in several interviews with giant international news networks including CNN, BBC, CBS (60 Minutes) amongst others. Finally, his latest line of work is the newest series in Egypt called Saturday night Live (Arabic) that has gained wide success in the Pan-Arab region.
